ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (Romero Report) — The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office says it is thrilled to welcome its newest deputy, K-9 Griffin.

Griffin, a one-year-old Yellow Lab, has partnered with Deputy M. Michael, a seven-year law enforcement veteran who has spent the last two years with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.

The duo recently completed their training at the Highland Canine Training, LLC in Harmony.

Griffin enjoys long walks, playing with his toys, finding missing or wanted persons, and sniffing out drugs.

The Sheriffs Office said Deputy Michael shares these interests, making them a well-matched team.

Deputies say they are excited to see Griffin and Deputy Michael in action as they work to keep the community safe.
