EDEN, N.C. (Romero Report) — Authorities in Rockingham County say they have charged a 58-year-old man with multiple sexual crimes against a minor.

The sheriff’s department, assisted by the Invictus Task Force under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Anderson Road in Eden on April 23.

The warrant was the culmination of an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation, which revealed that photographs and other materials depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor were being downloaded, according to investigators.

As a result of the investigation, Jonathan Andrew Shive, of Anderson Road, was charged with secret peeping, second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and indecent liberties with a minor.

Shive has been placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $100,000 secured bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
