
A crash in Pittsylvania County claimed the life of a 64-year-old man and left two others injured on Sunday morning.
The crash occurred around 10:46 a.m. on West Sunrise Drive at its intersection with Cross Stitch Road.
According to the Virginia State Police, a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado traveling on Cross Stitch Road failed to yield the right-of-way while making a left turn onto West Sunrise Drive.
The Chevrolet was subsequently struck by a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500.
State Police said the driver of the Chevrolet, Tommy Richard Terry, of Dry Fork, was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
A 21-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet, also not wearing a seatbelt, sustained injuries and was transported for medical treatment.
The 51-year-old driver of the Dodge, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash, according to authorities.
The crash remains under investigation.
