HENRY COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — The Virginia State Police says charges are pending in a fatal crash that injured three others in Henry County.

The incident occurred on May 11 at around 7:10 p.m. on Joseph Martin Highway near Fisher Farm Road.

The investigation shows that a 2005 Nissan Frontier was going westbound on Joseph Martin Highway when a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500, going in the opposite direction, crossed the centerline and collided with the Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan has been identified as Gregory Lee Myers, 52, of Martinsville.

State Police said Myers was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported to SOVAH Health in Martinsville, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 32-year-old individual, also sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Police said two passengers, a 5-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, were properly secured in child safety seats and were airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital due to life-threatening injuries.

The Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The incident remains under examination.
