PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) – The Virginia State Police says alcohol was a factor in a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred May 9 on Route 58, just west of Route 653.

At approximately 10:20 p.m., a 2013 Kia Soul going westbound in the eastbound lanes collided head-on with a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country, according to State Police.

The driver of the Kia, identified as 23-year-old Lindsey Faith Harris, of Stuart, was not wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene.

The 32-year-old driver of the Chrysler, who was also not wearing a seatbelt, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
