HENRY COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — Investigator Blayne Cassady, a dedicated member of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office since 2014, was this year’s Crime Stoppers Award recipient.

The sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post Cassady has made significant contributions across various divisions, including corrections, patrol, and investigations.

He currently serves as a member of the investigation division and the SWAT Team, where he is part of the sniper team.

Throughout his tenure, Cassady has held several roles, such as sergeant of patrol, firearm instructor, general instructor, and field training officer.

He has successfully led numerous major cases, including homicides, robberies, breaking and entering, larcenies, missing persons, and frauds, the post said.

Investigator Cassady is also undergoing training to become a Certified Cellebrite Examiner, which will enhance the Sheriff’s Office’s digital investigation capabilities by enabling the extraction of data from cellular devices, according to the post.

In addition to his local service, Cassady has served in the Air National Guard since 2012,.

“Investigator Blayne Cassady is a significant asset to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Henry County, exemplifying dedication, skill, and commitment to public service,” the sheriff’s office said in the post. “He consistently goes above and beyond, often coming into work on his days off to serve the public.”
