HENRY COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — Henry County sheriff’s deputies executed four search warrants at separate residences on May 16 in a coordinated effort to combat illegal drugs in the county.

The searches were carried out at locations on Rivermont Heights Road, two apartments on Dan Wythe Drive, and Chestnut Knob Drive.

The Sheriff’s Office said it seized about 1.87 pounds of suspected fentanyl, 1.96 pounds of suspected cocaine, 3 grams of pressed pills, one gun, and a hydraulic drug brick press.

Authorities estimate the street value of the seized drugs to be over $100,000.

As a result of the searches, Donte Cheron Freeman, also known as Leonard Cheron Freeman, 42, of Heights Road, was arrested and charged with third or subsequent manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing, or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell, give, or distribute a controlled substance.

This marks the second time in three weeks that the Sheriff’s Office has executed search warrants related to Freeman’s alleged drug activities.

On April 30, similar warrants were executed on Valentine Court, Preston Scales Drive, and Ziglar Road in connection to Freeman’s drug enterprise, according to authorities.

After obtaining a bond from the courts, Freeman allegedly resumed selling drugs.

The investigation is ongoing.
