PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — With deepest sadness, the mother of Douglas Tyler Watson has announced his passing.

Staff Sergeant Watson passed away on May 17 in Bethesda, Maryland.

Watson, who was born on November 2, 1990, in Eden, North Carolina, was a 2009 graduate of Patrick County High School.

He served in the United States Marine Corps for the past 14 years and was currently stationed at Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base, N.C.

The family is awaiting information on services as the military processes the necessary arrangements.

During this difficult time, they request prayers and also ask for privacy.

Thank you, Douglas Watson, for your ultimate sacrifice in service to our country and its freedom. Your bravery and dedication will never be forgotten.
