STUART, Va. (Romero Report) — Tony’s Pizza, a beloved local restaurant located in historic downtown Stuart, is slated to reopen under new ownership in mid-June.
The announcement follows a series of Facebook posts from both the former owner, Rosa Palumbo, and the new management.
On August 20, 2023, Palumbo addressed rumors regarding the sale of the restaurant, clarifying that while the business had been for sale for years, there was only a potential buyer at that time.
She assured the community that any concrete developments would be announced.
Rosa confirmed the sale in a February 29 Facebook post and thanked the community for their support for over 36 years.
“While we have loved our business and the friendships we have made over the years, it was time for a change,” She wrote. “We will surely be seeing you all soon. Again, thank you for the love and support you have given us over the years.”
On March 16, the new owners announced the re-opening of Tony’s Pizza, saying that they would continue serving authentic New York-style pizza.
They extended their gratitude to Rosa for her support during the transition and invited customers to stay updated via their website.
A comment on May 8, from the new management team hinted at a mid-June reopening.
The restaurant’s website now says, “Under New Ownership! Tony’s is coming back with a completely renovated interior, new management, and a great new menu.”
Tony’s Pizza, located at 402 Patrick Avenue, will continue to offer its pizza along with other favorites such as hot wings, burgers, and spaghetti.
The contact number for the restaurant remains 276-694-6682.
