HENRY COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — Jostens, a producer of yearbooks and student-created content, has given Carlisle School’s yearbook program their National Yearbook Program of Excellence 2024 Award at the silver level.

The award recognizes yearbook programs that showcase a broad representation of the student body while fostering 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, and ICT literacy, a news release said.

Carlisle’s yearbook team includes Caselyn Alderman, Shyanne Alderman, Emmie Eastwood, Addison Lawrence, Laci Shelton, and Lorelei Zagol, all under the guidance of Alyson Gammons, the school’s yearbook adviser.

“I am incredibly proud of my staff for producing a yearbook that perfectly captured this year’s inspiring theme, Dream Big,” Gammons stated. “This yearbook is not merely a collection of photographs; it is a beautifully crafted narrative that tells the story of the 2023-2024 school year through both images and words.”

The awards are presented twice a year, in the spring and the fall, based on the yearbook’s arrival date at the school.

The school’s program was recognized for meeting criteria in one to three categories: creating an inclusive yearbook, generating school engagement, and successfully managing the yearbook creation process.
