
HENRY COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis, Miss Martinsville-Henry County 2024 Jenna Adams, and Reed Creek Supervisor Dr. Pam Cobler joined the local DisABILITIES Unlimited group for their monthly meeting on June 10.
During the meeting, Deputy Brian Punturi showcased K9 Morty’s capabilities as an explosives detection dog.
Morty, an eight-year-old K9, is trained to detect over 1,900 different explosive compounds.
Alongside Deputy Punturi, Morty serves county citizens daily and has been deployed to major events such as the Super Bowl, presidential inaugurations, Virginia Tech football games, and PGA events to ensure safety.
Sheriff Davis expressed gratitude for opportunities to partner with local organizations like DisABILITIES Unlimited.
Adams also spoke during the meeting.
