FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — Franklin County Parks & Recreation has announced the lineup for its 2024 Concerts by Canoe summer series at Twin Ridge Recreation Area on Philpott Lake.

The free concert series will feature:

• June 14th: His and Hers
• July 12th: Meg Heat & The Meatsweats
• August 16th: Cory Hunley & Matt Powell

The concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their canoe, kayak, stand-up paddle board (SUP), tube, or float to enjoy the music from the water.

Early arrival is recommended to unload paddle craft at the venue’s dual launch ramp.

Motorboats should access the lake through the Salthouse Branch Recreation Area, while non-motorized boats should utilize the Twin Ridge Recreation Area at 1052 Twin Ridge Marina Road in Henry.

The Hotdog Stand will be providing the “fixins” for the event.

No fee is required for attendance, but donations will be accepted.

Per the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources regulations, life jackets are required for all watercraft.

Parks and recreation does not provide canoes or kayaks for the event.
