
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (Romero Report) — Jennifer Poe has been named principal of Lincoln Elementary School after serving as interim principal since March.
A native of Rockingham County, Poe attended Elliott Duncan Elementary, Western Rockingham Middle, and McMichael High School.
She earned her bachelor of science in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2001 and a master’s in educational leadership from High Point University in 2016.
With 23 years of experience in education, Poe began her career with Guilford County Schools, teaching first through fourth grades.
She was honored as Rankin Elementary’s Rookie Teacher of the Year in 2001 and Monticello-Brown Summit Elementary’s Teacher of the Year in 2015.
She earned National Board Certification in 2007.
Poe has held various educational roles, including teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and interim principal.
She served as assistant principal at General Greene Magnet School of Science & Technology, Southwest Guilford Middle, and most recently, Bethany Elementary School.
“I am excited for this opportunity to further grow Lincoln Elementary and assist students and staff in reaching their full potential. I look forward to continuing the work we have started together and working with the Lincoln community. I am honored to serve the Lincoln students, staff, and families. It’s a great day to be a Gator!” Poe said.
