PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — A registered sex offender has been charged for alleged sexual exploitation of children, according to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 11, authorities say they got a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, alleging a crime involving the sexual exploitation of children.

Following an investigation by the cybercrimes and criminal investigations divisions, 55-year-old Michael Andrew McLeese of Axton was arrested on June 12.

McLeese is currently being held at the Pittsylvania County Jail without bond.

He has been charged with two counts of use of communication devices to facilitate certain offenses involving children and one count of probation violation.

The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
