PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — Virginia State Police report that a June 15 crash claimed the life of a 37-year-old man in Pittsylvania County.

The accident occurred at around 3:41 p.m. on Kentuck Road, half a mile south of Ringgold Church Road.

A 2010 GMC Yukon, driven by Kevin Lamont Ballard, of Ringgold, was going north on Kentuck Road when it veered off the right side of the road, according to State Police.

The vehicle then overcorrected, crossed the road, and overturned.

Ballard, who was not wearing his seatbelt, died at the scene, police said.

The crash is still under investigation.
