HENRY COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — A shooting suspect was shot by officers during a warrant arrest in Henry County.
On March 2, 43-year-old Timothy Brian Howell shot Shannon Bryant at a home in the 5200 block of Mitchell Road in Ridgeway, then fled, according to authorities.
Warrants were issued for Howell’s arrest on charges of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
On June 17 around 12:45 p.m., deputies and officers from the Martinsville Police Department and the United States Marshals Service found Howell in a camper in a wooded area along Wright Road in Ridgeway.
Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis said investigators had been looking for him since the March shooting.

Howell, armed, pointed a handgun at officers, who then shot him multiple times, Sheriff Davis said.
Officers then started performing lifesaving measures and Howell was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Davis said he is in stable condition.
Numerous firearms and suspected meth were found at the scene.
At the request of the Sheriff, the Virginia State of Police will conduct an investigation of this incident.
