STOKESDALE, N.C. (Romero Report) — A man armed with gun entered a Stokesdale industrial plant and assaulted three of his former coworkers on June 24.
Deputies were dispatched around 8:30 a.m. to Ontex on NC-65 in response to the reported assaults.
Deputies said they learned that 36-year-old Juan Antonio Polanco-Frias, of Cedar Road in Asheboro, N.C., had entered the job site and waited for the arrival of three former coworkers.
When the three people arrived, Polanco-Frias confronted them and brandished a firearm, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
He proceeded to beat one of the individuals with an extension cord, then pointed the gun at that individual and made him beat the other two with the extension cord, threatening to shoot them if they did not comply, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Polanco-Frias then fled the scene and was found and taken into custody later in the day by the Asheboro Police Department.
He faces three counts of false imprisonment, three counts of communicating threats, and three counts of assault inflicting serious injury in connection with the incident at Ontex.
Authorities said Polanco-Frias was charged with possession of meth, and he had a number of other outstanding arrest warrants out of Randolph County.
He was placed in the Randolph County Detention Facility under an $11,000 secured bond.
The victims are expected to recover from their injuries, and their names are not being released due to safety concerns.
