DANVILLE, Va. (Romero Report) — Three juveniles were taken into custody in connection with vehicle break-ins on July 3, according to the Danville Police Department.
Just before 5 a.m., officers were dispatched to Hermitage Drive following reports of multiple individuals breaking into vehicles.
Upon arrival, officers said they saw three people fleeing on foot from a running vehicle, which also fled the scene.
The vehicle was later found crashed and unoccupied on Setliff Street.
The owner reported it stolen from her residence on Holbrook Street.

Danville Police said three males matching the descriptions were spotted walking on Memorial Drive near Robertson Bridge at around 6:25 a.m.
When approached, the males fled into the river, exiting on the north side.
Police said two were detained there and the third was eventually taken into custody on Trade Street.
The investigation is ongoing.
