ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Meredith Staley will be the new assistant principal at Wentworth Elementary School.
Staley, a native of Rockingham County and a graduate of Reidsville High School, has attended and served in various schools within the district.
“I am deeply honored and excited to have been chosen to serve the Wentworth community as assistant principal alongside Principal Paschal,” she said. “I look forward to collaborating with the faculty, staff, and community to empower students with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in all their future endeavors.”

She earned her bachelor of science degree in communication sciences and disorders from Appalachian State University and a master of arts in teaching from the University of North Carolina Greensboro.
A fourth-generation educator, Staley began her career at Moss Street Elementary and later continued at Williamsburg Elementary, gaining experience in elementary education, a news release said.
In 2022, she was selected for the Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools program at UNC Greensboro, earning her master’s in school administration.
The release said the program provided her with opportunities for growth, including a year-long internship at Holmes Middle School during the 2023-2024 school year.
