
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (Romero Report) — Karli Foster has been named the new business retention and expansion and workforce manager for Franklin County, bringing her expertise from Roanoke County where she served as an economic development specialist.
In her previous role, Foster led marketing efforts, established workforce development programs, and coordinated local and regional events to support economic growth.
She has a proven track record in building strong relationships with local businesses and brings a wealth of experience in business retention, community engagement, and workforce development, a news release from the Franklin County Office of Economic Development said.

“I am thrilled to join the incredible economic development team in Franklin County at an exciting time,” said Foster. “I am looking forward to leveraging my background in economic development to foster strong relationships with businesses and community partners. Together, we can support business growth and enhance workforce development in the county.”
She is a graduate of James Madison University with a master of public administration and holds a bachelor of science in public and urban affairs from Virginia Tech.
The county’s Economic Development Director Dani Poe expressed enthusiasm about Foster’s appointment, stating, “Karli’s experience in economic development, particularly in programming for workforce development and business retention, will be instrumental in advancing our initiatives. Her ability to build strong relationships with businesses and community partners aligns perfectly with our goals for economic growth and community engagement. We look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly bring to our team and the entire county.”
Foster will begin her new position on August 1.
