MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — The Piedmont Regional Criminal Justice Academy will host a Citizen’s Police Academy on August 12 at 1024 Dupont Road in Martinsville.

The event is sponsored by Martinsville City Mayor L.C. Jones and EPIC Health Partners, who will provide lunch.

The academy will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will include instruction on traffic stops, police/media relations, an overview of new laws, and a roundtable discussion.

Seating is limited to the first 50 registrants.
