ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (rbs news now) — Two recent Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) sting operations netted three arrests in Rockingham County.

On July 23, the sheriff’s office conducted one of the sting operations in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Invictus Task Force, and the Reidsville Police Department.

This resulted in the arrest of Jeffery Ray Surles, 51, of US 150 in Reidsville.

Surles was charged with indecent liberties with a child and solicitation of a child by computer.

He was taken into custody at a designated location where he had arranged to meet with a minor, according to authorities.

Surles was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $175,000 secured bond.

On July 26, a similar ICAC operation led to the arrests of Lisa Owens Mabe, 51, and Mark Wayne Mabe, 52, both of Seedling Road in Reidsville.

The pair were charged with indecent liberties with a child, solicitation of child pornography, and solicitation of a child by computer.

The sheriff’s office said they were also apprehended at a designated location where they arranged to meet with a minor.

Both were placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under $225,000 secured bonds.
