HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A high-speed pursuit that started in Henry County ended with an arrest in North Carolina on August 3.
A deputy tried to pull over a red Ford Ranger truck on Horsepasture Price Road at around 3:18 p.m.
The driver, Otis Lee Hill Jr., 51, of Martinsville, ignored the deputy’s emergency lights and siren and accelerated, which led to a high-speed pursuit.
The chase down Horsepasture Price Road reached speeds of up to 80 miles per hour, with the Hill maneuvering recklessly by overtaking several vehicles on double yellow lines, driving into oncoming traffic, and forcing vehicles off the road, according to authorities.
The pursuit continued into North Carolina, where the deputy performed a successful Precision Immobilization Technique on Martinsville Loop, causing the Ford to lose traction and slide into a ditch, rolling onto its side.

Hill was taken into custody without further incident.
The sheriff’s office said a female passenger in the vehicle sustained a minor laceration to the back of her head and was treated and released from UNC of Rockingham.
Hill, who had multiple outstanding felony warrants, was additionally charged with felony eluding police and obstruction of justice.
He is currently held in the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
Deputies are continuing the investigation and requests that anyone with information regarding this incident contact them at 276-638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 276-632-7463.
