
MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — The “Make Some Noise: After Hours Open Mic Series” is set to return for the 2024-2025 season, beginning on August 15.
The events kick off at 7 p.m. at Piedmont Arts, 215 Starling Avenue in Martinsville, and are free and open to the public, with a cash bar available.
Held in the museum’s galleries, this series aims to showcase the unique voices, perspectives, and creativity of Martinsville and Henry County.
Artists can sign up for a performance slot upon arrival.
“There is so much creativity in our area,” said Lauren Ellis, Piedmont Arts’ Programs Coordinator. “We wanted to create an opportunity for our local writers, performers, and creators to be showcased and celebrated.”

Ellis added that the event provides a welcoming and inclusive environment, making it a perfect place for beginners to share their material.
“We really focus on celebrating individual creators, so everyone is welcome and will be cheered on loudly.”
The series will be held once each season, with the following dates:
- August 15 at 7 p.m., hosted by Natalie Hodge Davis
- October 10 at 7 p.m., hosted by Jake Earles
- January 9 at 7 p.m., hosted by Taye the Truth
- April 10 at 7 p.m., hosted by Anna Wheeler
