
WYTHEVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Rocky Mount and Patrick County were among the winners recognized at the fifth annual Celebrate Tourism Summit, held on August 6 in Wytheville.
The event, presented by Visit Wytheville, Virginia Tourism Corporation, and Friends of Southwest Virginia, celebrated the achievements of tourism professionals across the region.
At the awards ceremony, Rocky Mount’s 150Fest was named the “Outstanding One-Day Event of the Year with More than 3,000 Attendees.”
This award highlights the festival’s success in drawing significant crowds and showcasing the town’s local culture, a news release stated.
Patrick County also received multiple accolades.

One Family Productions, nominated by the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, was awarded “Outstanding Tourism Partner of the Year” in recognition of its substantial contributions to the county’s tourism efforts, the release said.
Patrick County Tourism was honored with the award for “Best New Website” in the category for tourism marketing budgets of $50,000 or more.
The county’s 2023 Fall Magazine also took home the award for “Best Magazine Guide.”
“Celebrating the contributions and accomplishments of our tourism partners is vital,” said Kim Davis, Executive Director of Friends of Southwest Virginia. “Tourism is a key economic driver in Southwest Virginia, and we’re thrilled to acknowledge these outstanding leaders who tirelessly showcase and market our region to travelers.”
Tourism professionals submitted over 65 nominations.
Officials said the winners were selected by a panel of tourism industry professionals from across the Southeastern United States and one judge from England, who carefully reviewed and judged each entry.
