MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A Martinsville police officer and another man were hurt after they crashed through a window during an altercation on August 10.

The incident happen around 12:40 a.m. when officers were breaking up a fight between two men on East Main Street.

During the altercation, an officer and one of the men crashed through a plate glass window in the basement area of the former Globeman’s building, Kendall Davis, the city’s public information officer, told rbs news now.

Davis said both the officer and the man were treated for injuries at a local hospital and later released.

Chief of Police Rob Fincher confirmed that Michael Pritchett and Coy Grant were the men involved in the fight and that they were arrested.

They are being held in the city jail.
