COLLINSVILLE, Va. (rbs News now) — The Fieldale-Collinsville Volunteer Rescue Squad is offering a free “Stop the Bleed” training session on September 7.

The event will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at their facility located at 1827 Daniels Creek Road in Collinsville.

The training is designed to teach participants how to save a life by stopping uncontrolled bleeding in emergency situations.

The session is open to all ages, with no prior training or knowledge necessary.

Hands-on practice will be provided, and all instructors are EMT or higher trained.

While younger students are welcome, they must be able to follow instructions.

The “Stop the Bleed” initiative is a nationwide campaign aimed at empowering individuals to act quickly and effectively in bleeding emergencies, potentially saving lives before professional help arrives.
