PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — In response to the growing demand for healthcare services in Patrick County, Connect Health + Wellness has announced the transition of its mobile clinic services to a permanent location.

All services will now be provided at the new federally qualified health center, located at 22121 Jeb Stuart Highway

The decision to establish a permanent healthcare facility was made after collaboration with local leaders and in light of the closure of Pioneer Community Hospital.

With the county being a rural area, residents often face significant barriers to accessing healthcare, including limited insurance coverage and transportation challenges, a news release said.

The new center aims to address these issues by offering comprehensive medical and dental services to the community.

Connect Health + Wellness says it has been committed to assessing and addressing the healthcare needs of the county through its mobile clinic program since the beginning of this year.

The release said the success of this initiative, supported by the community, provided critical insights that have shaped the services now available at the new health center.

“Expanding into Patrick County represents a significant step forward in our mission to bridge the gap in healthcare accessibility,” said Marcus Stone, CEO of Connect Health + Wellness. “We’re excited to offer our comprehensive services at a brick-and-mortar location in this community and are committed to offering additional access to healthcare and improving health outcomes for l residents in the community.”

Federally qualified health centers like this one serve medically underserved populations, providing a range of primary healthcare services with fees adjusted based on household income, the release said.

They are governed by a community board, many of whose members are patients at the health center.

The center will initially operate on a similar schedule to its mobile clinic, with dental services offered on Mondays and medical services on Wednesdays.

As demand increases, additional days will be added to the schedule.

For more information about the services offered, residents can call 276-638-0787 or email info@connecthealthva.org.
