MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — RIDE Solutions is developing a strategic plan to assess commuter and general transportation needs throughout the region.
RIDE Solutions is the commuter assistance program for the West Piedmont region and a subsidiary of the statewide ConnectingVA commuter resources program.
The plan aims to identify gaps and opportunities to improve the allocation of alternative transportation modes, such as transit services, carpooling, vanpooling, and bicycling.
The ongoing impact of COVID-19 and changing regional dynamics have significantly influenced how and where residents travel for both work and non-work-related activities, according to the commuter services agency.
The new strategic plan will help address these evolving trends and develop strategies to better serve the community’s transportation needs.
To ensure the plan effectively reflects the needs and priorities of local residents, RIDE Solutions says it is seeking public input through a brief survey.
Residents of Franklin, Henry, Patrick, and Pittsylvania counties, as well as the cities of Danville and Martinsville, are encouraged to participate.
The survey is open to everyone, including those who do not commute or are currently not in the workforce.
The survey will remain open until September 30.
