HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — The 2024 Latino Festival, hosted by the Southern Virginia Latino Association (SOVALA), will take place on September 14.
The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Patrick & Henry Community College, located at 645 Patriot Avenue, Martinsville.
SOVALA is an organization, which aims to connect Latinos with various existing services and create services that do not yet exist.
The event will feature a variety of traditional foods, including tacos, tamales, pupusas, and pastries from different countries, alongside Aguas Frescas.

Attendees can also enjoy live music, engaging activities, and performances of both traditional folklore and modern dance, making it a fun, family-friendly event.
“Join us as we celebrate Latino culture while providing a space for you to connect with nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, first responders, and local businesses,” said Eli Salgado, event organizer. “If the weather is nice, we will host the event outside; however, if it rains, we will host the event inside the gym at the same location.”
