HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Two people died in a single-vehicle crash on September 2.

It happened on A.L. Philpott Highway near Summit Road in Henry County around 12:30 p.m.

According to Virginia State Police, a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was going east on A.L. Philpott Highway, when it ran off the left side of the road, crossed the median, and went underneath a parked semi-trailer.

The driver was identified as 62-year-old Albert David Elliott and the passenger was identified as 57-year-old Melissa Sue Willard.

State Police said both were from Henry County, were wearing their seatbelts, and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
