HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — The Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Foundation welcomed nine P&HCC freshmen as foundation scholars during an orientation on August 15 and at their board meeting this week.
In addition to the 125 scholarships it awards annually, the foundation says it honors local students who have distinguished themselves through academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership potential.
These scholars receive full-tuition scholarships, along with free books and fees for up to two years.
“We are thrilled to support the education of these nine scholars as they pursue their academic and career goals,” said foundation Executive Director Tiffani Underwood. “Their ongoing dedication to accomplishing great things is inspiring and we are proud to be part of their future successes”
This year’s foundation scholars, all graduates of Patrick County High School, are:
• Jackson Barbour – pursuing an associate degree in information systems technology
• Avery Brintle – pursuing an associate degree in general studies
• Jonah Byers – pursuing an associate degree in general studies
• Moises Cisneros – pursuing an associate degree in general studies
• Luke Cutchins – pursuing an associate degree in science
• Miranda Hall – pursuing an associate degree in general studies
• Lindsey Jones – pursuing an associate degree in science
• Stephen Spencer – pursuing an associate degree in general studies
• Lauryn Williams – pursuing an associate degree in general studies
