HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A student has been arrested and faces a felony charge after a bomb threat hoax in Henry County.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office said it got a report on September 12 of a bomb threat targeting Magna Vista High School that was shared via social media.
Deputies and investigators launched an investigation and traced the source of the threat to a 17-year-old student.
The investigation revealed that the threat was a hoax, and the suspect has since confessed.
Authorities assured the public that there was no real danger to the school or the community.

The juvenile has been charged with a felony for making a threat to bomb or burn buildings.
The juvenile is currently being held at W.W. Moore Juvenile Detention Facility.
Officials are urging parents to talk to their children about the seriousness of making threats and the legal consequences of such actions.
They stress the importance of reporting any threats to school authorities or law enforcement immediately.
