
DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — The Danville Police Department will host its first-ever Unity in Action conference on January 23-24, 2025, at 1 Community Way.
The two-day event will focus on community policing and strategies to address violent crime, with the Virginia Attorney General’s Office providing DCJS credits for attending law enforcement officers from across the state.
The conference will delve into Danville’s history while exploring how government agencies and communities can collaborate to solve problems, according to a news release.
Sessions will highlight the police department’s efforts to reduce violent crime, build trust and transparency, and engage the community in meaningful ways.

Attendees will learn about addressing gang activity, crime prevention, and fostering accountability in law enforcement.
Thanks to the support of Caesars Virginia and Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, the event is free to all participants.

The department thanked its partners, including the City of Danville, Averett University, and the Office of the Attorney General, for helping organize the conference at the new police facility.
