BASSETT, Va. (rbs news now) — The Bassett Rescue Squad will host a community yard sale and car wash to raise funds for life-saving equipment.

The fundraiser will be held September 21 at the rescue squad located at 1950 Riverside Drive in Bassett and will begin at 7 a.m.

The event aims to raise funds for the purchase of a LUCAS device, a vital piece of equipment that provides automated chest compressions during cardiac arrest, allowing EMTs to better serve patients in critical situations.

Community members are encouraged to attend the event to show support for the local rescue squad.
