DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Danville Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead and three others injured on September 29.

The incident occurred just before 1:30 a.m. outside Culture Restaurant located on Spring Street.

Officers said they arrived at the scene and found 21-year-old Ammorrion R. Harris lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds, surrounded by a large crowd.

Harris was transported to SOVAH Health Danville, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

Shortly after the initial call, three other individuals arrived at the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from the incident, police said.

35-year-old Xavier McDaniel Keith has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, attempted aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle.

Keith is being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.

Investigators are actively working leads in this incident.
