DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A man died in the hospital after he was shot and left for dead in Danville.

The homicide took place in the 200 block of Fagan Street on October 2.

Just before 10 p.m., officers responded to a well-being check and said they found Azra Jermann Keene, 33, lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Authorities said lifesaving measures were administered at the scene before Keene was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Danville resident Tyree Rafael Brandon, 29, has been charged with second degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm in public to cause injury.

Brandon’s photograph is being withheld at this time from public release for investigative purposes. 

Police said no further information will be released.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Danville Police Department.
