FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A man has been charged for a shooting at a gas station in Franklin County.

At around 12:31 a.m. on October 4, authorities got the call for the incident in the 7000 block of Booker T. Washington Highway in Burnt Chimney.

Deputies responded and said they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by the Franklin County Department of Public Safety for medical treatment.

Although the suspects had fled the scene, investigators said they quickly pieced together the events and identified the individual responsible.

Salbador Castillo Pagans, 22, of Boones Mill, was arrested and is currently being held without bond.

Pagans faces multiple charges, including:

• One felony count of shooting or throwing missiles at occupied vehicles

• One felony count of discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle

• One misdemeanor count of brandishing a firearm

• One misdemeanor count of reckless handling of a firearm

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
