
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (rbs news now) — A teen passed away and three others were injured after a crash on October 1 in Rockingham County.
Shortly before 4 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the incident on Comer Road near Derris Road.
17-year-old Micah Lee Styles, of Madison, was driving a 2005 Dodge Durango when he lost control, veered off the road, overcorrected, and struck a tree, according to authorities.
State highway patrol said Styles suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Atrium Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Two passengers, a 16-year-old from Stoneville and a 17-year-old from Madison, sustained serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
An 18-year-old passenger from Stoneville suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Authorities said they were informed on October 4 that Styles had succumbed to his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
