HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office seized drugs and firearms during a raid on October 13.

Investigators said they found suspected meth, cocaine, black tar heroin, fentanyl, four firearms—including one previously reported stolen from Patrick County—unknown pills, a pill press, digital scales, packaging materials, and ammunition.

These items will be sent to the Virginia Department of Forensic Science for analysis.

Kayla Mae Bowman, 32, was arrested at her home on Clyde Prillaman Street in Fieldale, which was the scene of the incident.

Bowman was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense
  • Possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense
  • Possession of a firearm while in possession of a schedule I or II drug
  • Possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon
  • Possession of ammunition by a previously convicted felon

“Since it’s Sunday, I’m going to leave you with a little scripture—Romans 13:4. I encourage every criminal to get their Bible out today and read Romans 13:4. But don’t just read it; take a minute to study it and see what the Apostle Paul meant by it,” Sheriff Wayne Davis said during an interview with rbs news now at the scene.
