DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — The Danville Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and died on October 15.

Around 8 p.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road for the incident.

Police said Candace Cassidy, 57, was found there with injuries after being hit by a Ford F-150 and was pronounced dead.

Witnesses and the driver of the Ford reported that Cassidy was in the center turning lane and was hit as the vehicle was slowing down to make a turn.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
