
DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Danville Police are investigating a business burglary and an armed robbery that occurred on October 20.
Around 2:40 a.m., officers responded to a burglary alarm at Gold and Diamond Jewelry in the 100 block of Mount Cross Road.
Upon arrival, they said they discovered the business had been broken into, with damage to property and an undisclosed amount of jewelry stolen.
Following the investigation, 23-year-old Nicholas Guest was identified as a suspect and arrested.
Guest has been charged with burglary and is being held in the Danville City Jail without bond.
Later that morning, at approximately 5 a.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at the Valero Fas Mart in the 1400 block of South Boston Road.
A male suspect, described as short and wearing a grey hoodie with a face mask, entered the store, produced a knife, and demanded money.
The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to authorities.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
