FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Franklin County deputies arrested a Roanoke man after intercepting a large quantity of meth following a targeted operation.

Acting on intelligence from August 15 indicating that meth would be transported through the county, investigators conducted a planned operation at the intersection of Booker T. Washington Highway and Jubal Early Highway.

They detained the suspect, identified as Joseph Michael Truse Jr., 42, and discovered approximately 69 grams of meth along with other controlled narcotics in his possession.

Truse was arrested and charged with four counts of manufacture/distribution of schedule I/II narcotics (2nd offense) and one count of distribution of meth mix exceeding 10 grams.

Authorities said additional charges are possible, pending forensic lab results.

The investigation remains ongoing.
