DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — The Danville Fire Department rescued a person during a structure fire on November 19.

Crews were called to the incident in the 800 block of Piney Forest Road at around 7:30 a.m.

A single-family residence was found with heavy smoke and flames visible from the rear of the structure.

Firefighters located and rescued a victim through an exterior window and brought them to safety.

A search of the home confirmed no additional occupants, while other crews worked to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported.

Assisting at the scene were the Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Police Department, and Danville Utilities.

An investigation by the Danville Fire Department’s Fire Marshal’s Office determined that the fire was intentionally set.

Charges are pending in connection with the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
