PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Stuart woman has been arrested and charged with arson following a fire at an occupied home.

On November 21, at approximately 2:35 p.m., authorities received a report of a structure fire in the 3900 block of Wayside Road.

Multiple fire departments throughout the county responded to the blaze.

Investigators from the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office said they determined the fire was intentionally set.

Evidence gathered during the investigation led to the arrest of Crystal Ann Dixon, 40, a resident of the home.

According to Sheriff Dan Smith, “Trash inside of the home was allegedly intentionally set on fire, causing extensive damage.” He added, “Everyone inside of the home was able to evacuate without injury.”

Dixon is being held without bond at the Patrick County Jail.
