HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Ridgeway man has been arrested and charged in connection with an investigation into child sexual exploitation.
The investigation started on August 28 when the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Authorities said the tip identified multiple files of suspected child sexual abuse material transmitted through private messages on a social media platform.
Investigators traced the activity to an IP address and, through a court order, obtained subscriber information linking the account to Nicholas Sean Trumble, 36, at Glen Oak Circle in Ridgeway.
On November 20, deputies said they executed a search warrant at the address and seized several electronic devices, including Trumble’s Motorola phone.
A forensic examination of the phone, completed on November 26, uncovered images and videos depicting child sexual abuse material involving young children, according to investigators.
Trumble was taken into custody without incident on November 27.
He has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography (1st offense) and one count of possession of child pornography (2nd or subsequent offense).
Trumble is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
