
HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Ridgeway woman has been charged after an investigation uncovered an alleged murder-for-hire scheme.
Gennevieve McGhee, 44, was arrested on November 27 after a confidential source recorded incriminating conversations at her home in the 4300 block of Chestnut Knob Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, the source, acting under law enforcement direction, captured audio and video evidence of McGhee allegedly outlining payment arrangements and providing detailed instructions for a planned robbery and murder.
McGhee has been charged with criminal solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit a felony.
She is being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
The case is under review by the Henry County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Officials said no further details will release, citing the ongoing investigation.
