Several school districts in our coverage area have announced two-hour delays for December 6.
School officials cited extremely cold windchill temperatures and other weather-related concerns as the reason for the delays.
• Henry County Public Schools: A two-hour delay will be in effect due to forecasted frigid temperatures and windchills.
• Martinsville City Public Schools: Classes will start two hours late due to predicted cold conditions.
• Patrick County Public Schools: The district will also operate on a two-hour delay.
• Franklin County Public Schools: In addition to the anticipated single-digit wind chills, a wind advisory and potential power outages have prompted a two-hour delay.
• Danville Public Schools: A two-hour delay has been implemented to ensure student and staff safety during the cold morning hours.
Residents are encouraged to check back for further updates.
