PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Danville man was killed in a pedestrian crash on U.S. 29 in Pittsylvania County.

The incident occurred at around 5:45 p.m. on December 8 near Georges Lane.

A 2024 Honda CRV going south on U.S. 29 struck a pedestrian standing in the road, according to Virginia State Police.

State Police said the pedestrian, 79-year-old Carlos Manuel Vientos, was then struck by a 2021 Subaru.

Vientos was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda was not injured, and no charges are pending, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
