DANVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — The Danville Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that an electrical issue caused a fatal fire.
Danville firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 3500 block of Westover Drive on December 26.
Crews said they found heavy fire coming from the home and started an attack while also searching the property.
35-year-old Kasey Webb was located and removed from the home, where resuscitation efforts began.
Firefighters and EMS crews transported her to SOVAH Health in Danville, but despite their efforts, Webb succumbed to her injuries.
A total of 15 firefighters remained on the scene for more than two hours to extinguish the blaze fully.
The fire marshal’s office and the Danville Police Department are continuing to investigate the fire.
